The FBI and the US Government (all of society) do have the right to access encrypted communications.
Companies and People also have the right to strong privacy protection where Governments are not allowed to access their private communications.
Rights come with responsibilities and when two rights are in direct
conflict with each other, they need to be evenly balanced.
Right now technology has shifted (and is shifting) the balance between the right to privacy far out of whack to the rights of society.
The problem, however, is even more complex as it also involves money, commerce and profits.
The truth of it all is that it is all about balance.
